Safe Streets Start With Small Actions

Every knife taken off the streets is a step toward a safer future.

Use the interactive map below to view locations of secure knife bins across London. Tap a marker to see more info about the bin’s location. We hope to expand the map to all of the UK in the coming months.

How to Safely Dispose of a Knife

Disposing of a knife safely is an important step toward protecting our communities. Here’s a guide on how to dispose responsibly:

📍 Use the map above to find your nearest bin.
🚶 Travel safely — Wrap it securely in several layers of thick cardboard or paper, and seal it tightly with strong tape.
📦 Make sure the blade is fully covered and the knife cannot be easily accessed.

While it’s generally an offence to carry a knife or weapon in public, it may be considered reasonable if you are taking it directly to a knife bin and it is safely and clearly wrapped for disposal.

Do not

❌ Throw it in household bins or recycling
❌ Leave it outside or in public spaces
❌ Give it to someone else to dispose of (unless they’re trained and authorised)
